We know that in healthcare, you rarely have a free hand. That’s why we’re introducing Hands-free mode for Live Translate, designed to make your voice-to-voice conversations smoother and more natural.

Instead of tapping your screen every time someone speaks, the app can now automatically listen, translate, and play the translation aloud.

What this means for your daily work:

  • Fewer taps, more focus: Start a conversation and let the app do the heavy lifting while you keep your hands free for patient care.
  • Natural flow: Both you and the patient can speak in turn without awkward pauses or manual steps.

By removing user modes in the app, we have added some new settings to the Portal to give you the possibility to customize the phrase library for your organization:

  • Care recipient phrases are now available for usage in shared lists through the Portal.

Improving the workflow: Goodbye "User modes”

We are always looking for ways to make your daily work smoother. That’s why we’re now simplifying how you access phrases in the app.

Instead of manually switching between "Staff" and "Care recipient" modes, you will now have everything in one place and all users will have direct access to the full power of the app at all times.

What’s new?

  • Phrases are grouped based on their purpose and you can easily toggle these on or off to customize the phrase library exactly how you like it.
  • No more switching modes. To let a patient use the app, simply select their language and stay right where you are.
  • Administrators can manage which parts of the phrase library are visible or selectable for their teams via Settings in the admin Portal.

If you don't typically use the specific patient lists, nothing changes for you. The rest of the app continues to work exactly as usual.
