Esbjerg Municipality is expanding its use of Care to Translate across Leisure, Health, Care and Social Services, giving employees access to both verified medical phrases and Live Translate.

Care to Translate welcomes Esbjerg Municipality as a new customer, making Esbjerg the first municipality in Denmark to introduce Care to Translate.

The municipality has previously used Care to Translate’s verified phrases to support communication between employees and residents. It is now expanding its use of the solution by giving employees access to Live Translate alongside the verified phrase library.

With Live Translate, employees can have more natural conversations across languages and respond more flexibly to residents’ questions and needs in everyday interactions.

The rollout will cover all employees across Leisure, Health, Care and Social Services, where Arne Nikolajsen is Director.

“Many of our employees face language barriers in their daily work. That is why we want to make Care to Translate available as soon as possible to every employee across Leisure, Health, Care and Social Services” says Arne Nikolajsen, Director of Leisure, Health, Care and Social Services.

The expansion marks an important step towards breaking down language barriers throughout the municipality. As the first municipality in Denmark to introduce Care to Translate, Esbjerg is taking a leading role in supporting communication across languages in municipal care services, helping residents understand information and take part in conversations about their care and support.

As part of this expansion, Care to Translate has undergone an extensive review by the municipality, covering information security, data protection and the technology behind the solution. This process has focused on ensuring that the tool supports safe communication and meets the municipality’s requirements for responsible use.

Care to Translate has also worked together with Esbjerg Municipality to adapt Danish introduction materials to local needs and workflows, helping employees get started.
