We've made multilingual communication even better in Care to Translate. With new language support, more regional dialects, and improved audio quality across several languages, healthcare professionals can communicate with patients more naturally and confidently.

Language is more than words. Accents, regional expressions, and the way something is spoken can all influence how well we understand each other. In healthcare, where clear communication matters, these details can make a real difference.

That's why we've introduced several updates to Care to Translate, making it easier to understand patients and help them understand you.

Bonjour, Canada! 🇨🇦

French isn't spoken exactly the same way everywhere. To better support French-speaking patients in Canada, we've added French (Canada) as a new translation option.

This update introduces translations adapted to Canadian French, including regional phrasing and terminology. It helps healthcare professionals communicate in language that feels more familiar to their patients.

You can now select French (Canada) directly from the language dropdown menu in Care to Translate.

Clearer, more natural-sounding audio translations

We've also improved the audio quality across 13 languages, introducing clearer pronunciation and more natural speech rhythms.

Whether you're explaining a procedure, asking about symptoms, or giving care instructions, the updated voices help make spoken translations easier for patients to follow.

The improved audio is available in:

Chinese, Danish, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Romanian, Russian, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

The result? More natural-sounding conversations and clearer communication during everyday care.

Better recognition of regional accents and dialects

Even when two people speak the same language, differences in pronunciation and accent can affect how accurately speech is recognized.

To better capture these differences, we've expanded dialect support for German and Latin American Spanish.

New German dialect options:

  • German (Germany)
  • German (Switzerland)

New Spanish dialect options:

Spanish (Argentina), Spanish (Bolivia), Spanish (Chile), Spanish (Colombia), Spanish (Costa Rica), Spanish (Cuba), Spanish (Dominican Republic), Spanish (Ecuador), Spanish (El Salvador), Spanish (Guatemala), Spanish (Honduras), Spanish (Mexico), Spanish (Nicaragua), Spanish (Panama), Spanish (Paraguay), Spanish (Uruguay), and Spanish (Venezuela).

These options help the app better recognize regional speech patterns during voice transcription. The underlying translation remains the same, but improved speech recognition helps conversations get off to a smoother start.

These additions build on our existing support for regional language variations, including 16 Arabic dialects already available in Care to Translate.
