New in the app: Support communication with single-language Dictation

Effective communication in healthcare isn't always about crossing language barriers. Sometimes, it’s about making the same language more accessible. We are excited to introduce Dictation, a new feature designed to support clearer communication in everyday care situations.

How it works 

Found under the Shortcuts section on your home screen, Dictation allows you to transcribe your speech into text instantly within the same language. Simply tap the microphone, speak, and the app will display your words on the screen in real-time.

Who is it for? 

While this feature uses the same powerful technology as our real-time translation tool Live Translate, it is specifically optimized for situations where translation isn’t necessary, but visual aid is. It’s an essential tool for:

• Hearing-impaired care recipients: Providing a clear, written script of what is being said.
• Visual learners: Many people process information more effectively when they can read along while listening.
• Language learners: Supporting those who understand a language well but benefit from seeing the text to confirm specific words or nuances.

Availability and future updates 

Dictation is currently available for users on Premium, Team, and Enterprise plans. While dictation history is not saved in this initial version, we are actively exploring ways to integrate history to better serve your documentation needs.
