Care to Translate has been selected by Inera to provide multilingual medical translations for national platforms 1177.se, UMO.se, and Youmo.se.
Care to Translate has won the procurement process to provide translation services for some of Inera’s most crucial digital platforms: 1177.se, UMO.se and Youmo.se. The agreement follows a competitive procurement process and will enable the delivery of multilingual, high-quality medical translations across these services, advancing accessibility and safety in Sweden's healthcare system.
Inera, owned by Sweden’s regions and municipalities, is responsible for providing common digital infrastructure that supports the digital transformation of welfare. By procuring Care to Translate, Inera continues its commitment to improving access to health care and welfare services for all residents, regardless of language barriers.
“We are excited to be part of Inera’s mission to enhance access to health care. The use of digital platforms to ensure clear communication in health care is at the core of what we do,” said Maja Magnusson, CEO of Care to Translate.
“Through this contract, we are proud to contribute to Sweden’s national services that serve residents' health needs.”
The agreement covers three of Inera's national services, most notably 1177.se, Sweden’s central hub for healthcare information and services. 1177 provides a comprehensive, easy-to-navigate resource for medical conditions, healthcare services, and practical advice on navigating Sweden's healthcare system. Care to Translate’s translation services will ensure that residents, who have diverse language backgrounds, can access crucial healthcare information with clarity and accuracy.
In addition to 1177, the agreement also includes UMO.se and Youmo.se, Sweden's leading platforms dedicated to providing young people with reliable, accessible health advice on a wide range of topics including mental health, sexual health, and relationships. Care to Translate’s multilingual services will ensure that young people have equal access to this vital information, supporting their health and personal development.
“As a company specializing in medical translation, we leverage a network of linguists with specialized healthcare expertise. We understand the intricacies of medical communication and the critical need for cultural and contextual accuracy, especially in sensitive environments like health care,” says Annie Backman, Chief Medical Officer at Care to Translate. “UMO.se and Youmo.se are vital resources for young people across Sweden, and it’s essential that the information is accessible to all, regardless of language proficiency."
"By providing translation services for UMO.se and Youmo.se, Care to Translate is helping to empower young individuals to make informed, confident decisions about their health.”
The agreement strengthens Inera’s digital infrastructure, ensuring that Sweden’s diverse population continues to receive clear, reliable information through its critical services.
